Service information

Privacy, in plain language.

This page explains how the hosted ParallaxMaker web service handles images and service data. You can make a preview as a guest, and your image is processed with local, open-source models running on infrastructure managed for ParallaxMaker.

Effective 9 July 2026

The hosted service is not device-only

When you use ParallaxMaker on the web, your image is uploaded to infrastructure managed for ParallaxMaker so it can be processed, previewed, purchased, and exported. The privacy boundary is that images are not sent to third-party AI APIs or unmanaged external image processors.

Information the service handles

Your image and editing choices
The source JPG, PNG, or WebP you upload, the generated preview and working assets, your selected look, and any keep, reject, depth, or parallax decisions you save.
Job and processing records
A job identifier, processing state and events, model-stage warnings, chosen export plan, and export availability or failure information.
Guest and access information
A guest-session cookie is used to connect you to your job. If you use account access, the service also handles the email used for the magic link and the account session it creates.
Checkout and payment records
The selected product, job and payment identifiers, payment state, Stripe event identifiers, and the email returned by Stripe Checkout when available.
Abuse-control information
The service uses IP-based counters and guest-session job counts to limit uploads, preview jobs, checkout sessions, and magic-link requests.
02

How that information is used

  • Validate the uploaded image and create a guest-owned project.
  • Generate and display a low-resolution and/or watermarked preview.
  • Save your layer choices before export.
  • Verify payment, generate the purchased files, and provide protected download links.
  • Attach a paid job to an account when Stripe Checkout returns an email.
  • Deliver single-use magic links and show retained paid exports in the account area.
  • Operate queues, diagnose failures, protect the service from abuse, and clean up stored files.
03

Where image processing happens

Image analysis runs on infrastructure managed for ParallaxMaker with local, open-source computer vision models. Uploaded images are not passed to OpenAI, Claude, paid external AI APIs, or unmanaged external image processors.

The free preview is intentionally low-resolution and/or watermarked. If a model stage is unavailable, the service can return a conservative fallback instead of pretending that semantic layers were detected. That fallback remains viewable, but it cannot be approved or purchased; you must retry layer separation. Full-resolution processing and export happen only after payment is verified.

04

Payments and fulfillment

Payment is completed through Stripe Checkout, so information entered on that checkout is also governed by Stripe's own terms and privacy practices. ParallaxMaker creates a pending payment record tied to the guest-owned job before opening Checkout.

Returning to the success page does not unlock a download. The backend first verifies Stripe's webhook, then starts the export. The page only reports the backend state. Ready files are delivered through short-lived download tokens rather than exposed storage paths.

05

Guest sessions and account access

You do not need an account before upload or preview. A guest-session cookie lets the service enforce ownership when the browser reads a job, requests processing, saves decisions, or starts checkout.

After a verified payment, the job can be attached to the email returned by Stripe Checkout. Account access uses a single-use, expiring magic link delivered to that email. Signed-in users can request fresh download links for their paid jobs while the underlying files are still retained.

06

Retention and deletion

Under the current defaults, unpaid source, preview, and AI working files become eligible for scheduled deletion after 24 hours. Completed paid files remain downloadable for seven days after the export is ready. The current windows are shown beside pricing and at checkout.

Download links expire sooner and can be refreshed only while the seven-day file window remains open. Scheduled cleanup removes source images, previews, AI working files, ZIPs, and MP4s. Limited purchase, account, and expired-job records are kept separately. ParallaxMaker is not permanent storage, so keep your own copy.

07

Your choices and responsibilities

  • You can upload and preview without creating an account.
  • You can leave before checkout; payment is not required to inspect the free preview.
  • You can sign out of the account area when you finish retrieving exports.
  • You should save paid exports before the availability date shown for the files.
  • You are responsible for having the rights needed to upload, process, export, and use the source image. Rights responsibility remains with you as the user and exporter.

Read the service terms or return to the guest upload.
